Cole "Perch" Gibson

Cole Gibson, also known as “Perch Perkins” or “Perch,” is a play-by-play commentator and Esports journalist. After facing the adversity of losing his Morehouse scholarship and transferring to Georgia State University (GSU), he discovered his passion for Esports and is working towards making it a career. He lives by a saying an old trainer taught him: “Hard work beats talent, when talent doesn’t work hard.”

Gibson produces League Hour (formerly known as Primetime Esports), an Esports-centric podcast covering professional and collegiate League of Legends. He says if he could split himself into five people he would run the entire thing himself.

He has casted for multiple leagues, including Compete League, Upsurge League (formerly) and live League of Legends Microsoft tournaments in the metro Atlanta area.

Gibson carries deep knowledge of League of Legends and has been involved in Esports since 2012. He also coached the GSU League of Legends collegiate team and is an analyst on the Trinity Force Network

He enjoys reading mystery novels and attending Atlanta United soccer games. Gibson volunteers at the student-run station GSTV. He also assists the GSU media program whenever the need arises and works for political campaigns in the city of Atlanta.

Cole live in Conyers, Georgia with his family and continues to pursue career opportunities and improve himself with their constant encouragement.

He plans on graduating in the Fall semester of 2018 and plans to immediately find work in the field of Esports entertainment and media, hopefully in Los Angeles, California.
